Cost of membership: It costs me between $3 and $4 a visit and that includes all costs: classes, parking, and membership at all Goodlife's in Winnipeg. I am able to attend a Goodlife in Calgary for a fee of $5 a visit based on my Winnipeg membership. I can't imagine a better deal. The more you go, the better the deal.
Pros: Friendly, accessible, never crowded. Feels comfortable, especially as the staff know my personal needs, knowledgeable and readily available. I especially enoy the pump classes, the Fitfix routine, and the cardio machines.
Cons: The yoga and yoga blend classes are not the quality of yoga you will get from a Iyengar certified studio. You are better off learning yoga elsewhere and supplementing your yoga practice at Goodlife.
Thoughts: I'm delighted to have a convenient and readily available (good hours) location to exercise.
The best gym in the city is (and why):

Cost of membership: Seriously overpriced
Pros: Women's only facility makes some people more comfortable to work out in
Cons: Front desk staff are extremely rude and will not give you a direct answer regarding any questions about being overcharged, they get very over bearing and in your face if you explain you dont appreciate the way they are speaking to you. Will also blatantly lie to you when trying to figure out how to cancel your membership due to being IMMENSELY displeased.
Thoughts: I wouldn't go back to this gym if they paid me to.
The best gym in the city is (and why): YMCA downtown, huge facilities with much more activities and tons more bang for your buck for membership costs. Also no fake charges or contacts involved with your membership.
