Pros:24 hours, no b.s
Cons:some dated equipment
Thoughts:Will not leave,
The best gym in the city is (and why): First off, if you approach this gym in hopes of finding a cocky shiny la fitness or goodlife then think again. This gym is for those who IGNORE the gimmicks and b.s. IRON lifting and everything else bodybuilding/fitness related. That said, The gym is great because one its 24 hours and two it never really has peak periods. Only major high traffic period is at 58pm.
Parking is great because theres plenty near and around. Type of clientele? The juice heads to the pwoerlifting types to the endurance based athletes. On the second floor there is a boxing studio for those who like that realm of sport.
Note: This gym does not have the greatest stretching area. It is essentially just one room. They have about 9 ellipticals, 6 stairmasters, 10 treadmills, 10 bikes and one rower.
To be honest, this gym is definitely an oldschool weight lifting gym. It used to be called powerhouse. To those who do not know powerhouse is a chain of underground style lifting gyms spread out across the states.
That being said, its a great gym for those who want to get in and get out. NO gimmicks at all. Memberships are easy to get just ask for a month or 3 month no constant calling or prestering for personal training.
Cost of membership: 30$ a month
Pros: No nonsense gym, everyone trains hard
Cons: older equipment
Thoughts: would be a great chain
The best gym in the city is (and why): It reminds me of the old gold gym
