Cost of membership:NOT WORTH IT.
Pros:equipment is nice and gym spread across 3 floors makes it spread the crowd
Cons:STAFF is horrible. all think they are models and even if we ask them about promotions, member of month, anything other than personal training..they dont even acknowledge. smile is a national treasure here. STEAM ROOMS NEVER WORK. IF THET DO THEY ARE TOO HOT. The gym isopen untill 11 and maintenance staff shuts the steam rooms at 5.00 so that they dont forget. One of them actually said manager tells them to do so.

Pros:closeby
Cons:many
Thoughts:I signed for towel service . The all of a sudden it was not provided. When I asked why they said it was not showing in the computer. So I brought in my agreement with the box for towel service checked and the manager said I could've added it after the fact even though it was clearly a carbon copy. He couldn't find the companies copy. So basically he called me a liar. When I called head office they said the same thing . That I could have checked it after the fact.
The best gym in the city is (and why): YMCA because it is not Goodlife

This club has become as a known place to go and have gay sex. Other members along with myself have reported over and over again these complaints to the different mangers that they seem to keep changing and nothing has stop the sex activities within the club. It is outrageous, and humiliating as these acts are happening in an adjacent shower stall, steam room and Sauna where other members are using.

Thoughts: sharon you are so right. I walked into the club at 8 park rd on the weekend and the guy at reception wanted to know too many personal details for someone just asking to join. Personal details!? Anyway, the same thing happened when a gal walks in, she asks for 4 towels n the guy says no, only 2 allowed, saying too many are being used up. So I walked right out. Not a good club at that rate.

Cost of membership:not worth it
Pros:none
Cons:everything
Thoughts:The previous poster is right about horrible staff and customer service. I was waiting to be shown around the club when a member was asked by reception why she had taken 3 towels!! When I asked the salesperson if there is a limit, he told me there is none and I can use as many towels but will need to pick them up at reception. I guess they practice control once you join and question you when you do take more. I refused to join cause I use 2 towels to workout with and 2 for shower and wiping. So they would have a problem with me? Are we in some under developed jungle club? Rubbish. I joined another club in the area and so far am very happy. No rubbish attitude or hitler regime. Be aware.

Cost of membership: not worth it
Pros:none
Cons: everything from staff to equipment
Thoughts: This place is the pits. They entice you into joining and then it is downhill. First the management is crappy. The general manager has a soaring attitude and so does the assistant manager. The weekend receptionist is a louse he actually checks out your personal info on the computer. Greets his favorites ignores others! The other staff are the same, hit and miss. The equipment is under serviced and some make all sorts of noises given they are never oiled. Towels sometimes feel like they have not been washed! lazy maintenance workers. Cleanliness a big issue. Weights are thrown around and staff do not pick up or clean up. New locker rooms are nothing to rave about. Try complaining about stuff and you will be barked at like another member indicated. This place should be closed down.

Listen up folk, run far away from this joint. Here, staff is preferred over members and staff is always right. If you complain, you are wrong. Bad attitude this place is the pits. Equipment is not up to date, place is not kept clean, renovations have been going on since Oct and is still not finished. Members have to tolerate nonsense and keep their complaints to themselves. Really bad management and staff.

Cost of membership: Too high for the quality
Pros:None
Cons:Poorly kept, managed with unfriendliness and tardiness
Thoughts:
Really hopeless. Cardio equip squeaks as they are never oiled. TV tuners work for a week and go back to being static or with no sound. Towels are folded in an unsanitary way, on the lap of the maintenance worker whose pants have been everywhere! Dirty, filthy. Maintenance staff lazy and just dont want to refill soap, sanitizers, paper towels etc. Personal trainers have major attitude problem. So does the maintenance staff and manager. No matter how much you complain, it goes to deaf ears. Dont join this hole. It is pathetic.

Cost of membership:too high for what you get
Pros:
Cons:badly managed
Thoughts:
The best gym in the city is (and why): Lousy management, what with quick staff turnaround. Maintenance workers rule this gym, you cant ask for anything. Seems no one is happy working here as they are so unfriendly. When paper towels, sanitizers, shampoo run out, takes 3 weeks to be replenished! When you request it, maintenance staff bark at you and other staff say they cannot do anything about it. Towels work on a begging system at reception. You get one and if you ask for more, there is a running commentary of what do you need it for! Work benches are full of sweat. Definitely find another gym to go to.

Cost of membership: high
Pros: right inside my building
Cons: they refuse to play music on the 3rd and 4th floor which is where the machines I like to use are (often one of a kind). After three years of requesting we have music I finally got to the problem: the trainers are in charge of the music and it gets in the way of their training so the rest of us have to suffer!
Thoughts: I'm so angry with the indifference and rudeness around this issue for so long I wish I hadn't moved into the building just to be able to go here. I work out 5 6 days a week and have been coming for 6 years. They could care less.

Cost of membership:$38 every two weeks
Pros: Staff are friendly
Cons: Some showers are broken, whirlpool doesn't work, and steamroom closes 45 minutes before closing time.
Thoughts: $38 every two weeks you get to use most goodlife gyms but not all. This gym isn't worth the price.
