The best gym in the city is (and why): it is terrible due to the cigarette smoke.
We have been to our fair share of gyms and while BC gyms aren't up to snuff with Ontario gyms with the likes of Goodlife Fitness, this is clearly your best option for the best price downtown Vancouver. This gym is quite large with enough equipment to satisfy even the most intense athlete. It seems to be busy around 4306 which is like every other gym but if you can avoid the rush you'll get in a great workout. Pricing can vary widely from $25 a month (corporate or exgoodlifers) to 50+ for monthly dues. Sometimes you'll find specials without initiation fees but most of the time you'll have to pay something upfront.
