Weight & Fat Loss | Younger dieter...

Ok, I am 16 and overweight. (I dont just
think it, my doctor actually told me) I am 5'5" and weigh about 155.
I am looking into pilates with cardio also. But I am a sugar freak.
How can I kick the sugar habit? and what do you think will be a good way to
lose fat, but not muscle.

What you need to do is a program of muscle conditioning (working every muscle group at least 2 days per week), cardio (make it something that you want to do) 30-40 min. 5-7 days per week, stretch properly and see what happens. I would suggest having a professional like a personal trainer set up a program for you. We all have our habits and our foods that we crave. It's okay to indulge once in a while but not every day. Maybe keep your treats to once every 2 weeks. Also, you can train your taste buds to not crave the sugar as much. The less you have, the less you'll want over time. Try fruit when you have a craving. You may not feel like it, but it sometimes does the trick. You'll do it. It won't happen over night. It takes time and effort on your part but if you set your mind to it and have the right people to support you, you can do it! Don't give up! You're worth it! Keep in mind that you should only be losing 1-2 pounds per week and make sure you don't go more than 4 hours without something to eat even if it's small. Starving yourself will only decrease your metabolism and make you hold onto fat. I hope this helps!

Hey, i love sugar too! i have a bad habit of eating dessert after dinner. usually chocolate, icecream, cake or something. recently i got into the habit of eating fruit whenever i crave for something sweet. the best i found was the califonia navel oranges. just cut them into 6 pieces and nibble whenever u want sweets. i'm sure there's still alot of sugar in those things, but there are lots of vitamin c which is definelty good for you. also try and drink lotz of water whenever you have time. bring a water bottle with you around the house. i lost 5 pounds in water weight just from hydrating myself. it also keeps ur metabolism up throughout the day.
hope this helps! cheers!

This sounds like me a few months ago, except I'm almost 20. I'm 5' 4.5" and about 6 months ago I had gained weight up to 155-160. I was constantly eating junk food, mc donalds, drinking pop... I AM a sugar junkie. =P For the last 6 months I had dropped pop, and fast food, and have substitutes for sugar. I lost 20 pounds in the first month by rollerblading about 40 minutes each night around the lake of the city I was living in. From keeping my diet 'junk free' I now weigh 127lbs. This was my weight for 4 years through highschool. I don't exercise very often really, I just work every day so I am always active anyway. A good substitute for sugar I think is tic-tacs or fruity certs. I eat SO many of these and it's much better than chips, cake, and candy. I know this advise isn't very good... Hmm..My job I am always walking and lifting so my muscles don't go unused. You are also not quite overweight. I would never have considered myself overweight when I weighed 155,160 because it also depends on muscle mass. I have very muscular thighs and stomach... More muscle weight than fat weight can make a huge difference.

I'm done blabbering now. =P
