Exercise Questions | What to do first cardio or weights

I have been going to the gym for the past 10 years...off and on....
I usually do my warm up, followed by my weight routine and then proceed to do my cardio workout....
Recently a friend has informed me that I am doing this backwards cardio should be first then your weights....which way should I be doing this

hardgainer87 is exactly right. The only thing that I could add is that after an intense leg workout, take the day off from cardio. I have found this makes my recovery easier and faster.

You are actually the one who is right. There are so much more benefits doing cardio after a weight routine including faster recovery (lactic acid is actually used up as an energy source) and to burn fat more efficiently.
Doing cardio first would prefatigue your muscles and can be a safety issue when doing a high intensity weight routine. Doing weights first would not as lactic acid would be used as fuel to assist with cardio (kinda like hitting 2 birds with 1 stone). Also, after weight training, your blood glucose levels would be lowered allowing you to tap into your fat stores much faster allowing you to burn more fat. Very excellent for toning those muscles. Any more questions just ask.
