Your math is a little off Mike. You multipled the mans weight in lbs. instead of kgs. It should be 180lbs/2.2 (to get kg) = 82kg which works out to 123 to 164g of protein per day.

The amount of protein you need per day is 1.5-2.0 grams of protein per kg of bodyweight. For example a 180lb. man would need 270 grams to 360 grams. Any more than this and you are wasting your time. You can get the majority of the protein from foods like chicken breasts lean red meats, and fish. You should really only have to drink 1 or 2 protein shakes a day at most. I recommend drinking 40-50 grams of protein after a workout and getting the rest of your protein from your diet.
