Body Building | Gluteus maximus building

Ex-Pro snow skier on crutches 20yrs. Working on programming my body to walk again. I'm finding that building my gluts is far more important for my core. Am I right? What exercises will build them the strongest?

Building your gluts is more important for your core? Do you mean it's more important to walk than your core?

If so, I would imagine that both are integral for walking again. Are you seeing a physio for this?

I would suggest working up to ball squats (with the ball in the small of your back. Also doing bench squats (basically sitting on a bench and standing up). Your physio will give you the best advice for your current progress however.
