9/14/2006 2:12:04 PM | You should eat every 2-3 hours to keep your insulin levels normal which decreases hungry and avoids the desire to binge. Further, eating every 2-3 hours keeps your metabolic rate up. Each meal should contain some form of lean protein (protein increases metabolic rate and helps you feel full), vegetables/fruits (these take more energy to digest), some carbohydrate in a fiber rich form like whole wheat bread ( fiberslows glucose absorption) and a some form of good fat (like omega threes). This sound like a lot so portions should be small/moderate. This is what is called a thermally effective meal menaing the meal itself is designed to take more calories to digest and to keep your metabolic rate up until the next meal...Lanny Schaffer...
