Weight & Fat Loss | Cardio + weights

i am 22,fem., have been working out for 2 months and need help designing the best program for my needs. my goal is to lose fat esp. around the mid-section. i do not need to lose weight, but only to get rid of fat and build muscle. currently i spend 1.5 hrs working out 5-6 days a week. tho my muscles are getting firmer, i'm not losing fat and just look bigger. how should i use the cardio equipment(bike, treadmill, crosstrainer) to burn fat more effectively? how should i combine cardio and weights? is it futile to work on the same muscle groups everyday?what abt cardio everyday? for how long, and at what intensity?

You should never do your cardio after doing weight training, cause when you weight train your bodys builds an acid, so when your doing your cardio your body has to burn through that acid before it can start to burn fat.
The best time for you to do your cardio is when you first wake up, before breakfast. Why? well it's simple, when your doing your cardio your burning calories and fat that you had throughout the day, but after you wake up and you do your cardio your body has no choice but to burn fat deposits on your body as fuel (cause you haven't eating anything for at least 8 hours).

As for what type of cardio you should be doing, i recommened jogging at intervals (interval training teaches your body to burn fat more effeciantly). I recommend jogging rather then cycling or something like that because you move your arms while jogging, and depending on how fast and how far you move your arms you can burn up to an extra 15-30% of calories!
Your metabolsim burns up to 60% of your calories, and moving (even reaching for the remote) burns up to 30% of your calories.
Also since your 22 and a female you should be eating about 1500 calories to lose weight (1200 calories is the lowest you should go) and then after you get ther body you want you should probably 1900 calories to maintain your weight.

Well if you work out the same muscles everyday, they will just keep tearing. As you work your muscles, they tear, and then then take a day or 2 to heal. The healing process it what makes them bigger and more firm.

For me the last 5 to 8 lbs. are the slowest and most agravating to trim off. Like yourself, jusr about the MID section. Just enough trim of loose floppy FAT to discourage a person not to go without a top on. You look with the mirror at all angles and poke at it and pull and tuck, then you contimplate LIPO! Stop, trash that thought, just like 5 O'clock rush hour traffic, standing in line at the post office, or waiting for that darn CATSUP to come out of that bottle... JUST BE PATIENT. For me it takes about 3 times as long as it did to lost that first chunk of fat as it will to LOSE that there little last bit of WASTE from your middle. KEEP ON KEEPING ON........

It's great to see that you are serious about your goal. Working out 1.5hrs, 5-6 days a week is a great dedication. Here are a few quick tips to answer your questions.

Try not to workout the same muscle 2 days in a row. Our muscles need to rest in order to properly recuperate. Do try to alter your routine. Our bodies are quick to adapt and need constant change in order to work harder. As a rule of thumb, try a new program every 2-3 months. If losing fat is your goal, do cardio after doing your weights. As well, try not to eat carbs after 6pm. This helps a lot. Doing interval training on the cardio machines ensure the best results. For example, running hard for 1 minute, jogging for 2, and repeat. Your cardio time should be 20 minutes minimum.

Good luck!

I think that you should definetly alter your routine. Perhaps including a supplement like Hydroxycut might help you get the results you want. Don't get me wrong you still need to a have a well balanced low fat-diet. I think you should change up your cardio each time you work out, like bike one day, run another and so forth and I think you should do it after your workout. I also think you should give yourself at least 30 sec rest between reps. So I hope my advice helps
