Exercise Questions | Weak in the hips!

I really dig this site. I consult this site for all kinds of exercises. I must admit I just started to work out more. I am in a Sunday softball league and I am out of shape. Last season I sprained a ligament near my hip on the left side. It sidelined me for a while. This season will be different I hope. I am wondering how often and which exercises I should do to fix this weakness.

Thaks for the reply! A physiotherapist huh? Never heard of health insurance probably won't cover it. I will however try my best to see a specialist. It doesn't hurt to the point where I can't work out. I have been in the gym 3 sometimes 4 times a week consistently for the past month or so. It just feels a little sore and stiff. Stretching seems to loosen it a little and as of this post it does not feel bad...a good kind of sore. I think it is getting better. I do leg raises every other day...can still feel a little(tinge of soreness).

We appreciate your compliment to our
site and we try to help everyone
achieve maximum fitness, however to
achieve the best possible assessment a
physiotherapist should assess your
current situation and they can
recommend what types of exercises to
perform for you based on your current
ligament issue.

You cannot strengthen a ligament like
you can with muscles, so if it's fully
repaired you should be able to do all
the exercises you were doing before
without any troubles.

You should start really slow and work
your way up to a full body 3 days per
week circuit routine. If you start to
feel pain, STOP.
