Exercise Questions | Target heart rate

I have been only exercising for a few months. Have lost 60 lbs. I am 46 years old. Target heart rate should not exceed 146. However when on treadmill. I spend 1.5 to 2.5 hours heart rate avg for time is 164 for as long as 2 hours 30 minutes. up to 183 (treadmill on 30 percent grade @ 4 speed to reach 183)for 5 minutes. No muscle cramping, Is this safe. Can I continue to push the limits. Please give me your advise.

I run 3 tmes a week and would advise that you should do not exceed 80% of your maximum HR. To calculate that it is 220-age X .80. Good luck. My direct e-mail address is terry5771@verizon.net

I'm sure you can understand that we do not know your health background and cannot suggest that anything is OK. I suggest you go see your doctor to get checked out and then see a local personal trainer for advise.
