Body Building | New to working out

Alright so, I know all my basics and etc for working out/body building but i would like to broaden my range of exercises and knowledge.
I put up a post in another forum asking about diets/nutrition, because i know being fit and health doest just mean working out.

So im going to the gym so i can get ripped, not jacked, i beleive theres a difference between the two words, i think you'll all know what i mean. getting a bit more bulk to me would be nice though to..

So my question is for whoever opened this post, whats your suggestion towards exercises that would be good, mainly right now i want to get more definition on my stomach, back and obliques.

Currently i am 5'9-5'1o weighing in only at 140

What you should do is that of when you are weight lifting, is to do high rep,low weight compound excercises.

If you are looking to get a little more bulk you should alternate between heavy and light weights every three weeks!
