Exercise Questions | Lat pulldown


This may sound silly but why am i able to do more weight when pulling the bar behind my neck then in front of my chest?

definitely pull the bar in front, but I understand wanting to know "why." perhaps you're leaning forward and your body weight is helping you pull the bar -- which is ineffective, anyway, and unsafe!

Well in any case you should be doing it infront of your body because it will hurt your shoulder.
