Iron is important to the process of respiration.Two-thirds of the iron found in the body is in the blood.If you take the proper diet you dint get any health problems, mostly blackberries,most dark green-leafy vegetables,sea vegetables are very rich in Iron

12/3/2008 5:50:34 PM | Iam sorry to hear that you were told that you had low iron count. There are all kind of foods that you can eat that are rich in iron such as Clams, all types of Livers,Oysters, Mussels, Beef, Shrimp, Sardines and Turkey
But there are also food that helps with absorption of iron rich food which are: 1. Fruits: Orange, Orange Juice, cantaloupe, strawberries, grapefruit etc 2. Vegetables: Tomato, tomato juice, potato, green, red peppers Broccoli, brussels sprouts 3. White wine 4. Meat/fish/poultry
Food that do not help with the aborption include: 1. Vegetables: Sweet potato,spinach, chard, rhubarb and beet greens 2. Red Wine, Coffee & Tea 3. Whole grains and bran 4. Soy products
