Nutrition | How does alchohol affect muscle gain?


hi i work out a lot but i also like to party a lot, i was just wondering if drinking a lot (beer) affects muscle gain? thanks any help much appreciated

If you increase your consumption in calories that have no effect on muscle repair you will have a catabolic effect upon your muscles and you will actually lose muscle (assuming you're not receiving the protein and carbs required by your muscle tissue). Increasing alcohol intake is therefore a BAD idea for muscle gain.
