I joined Herbal Magic and feel like a fool. It cost me over $1,000.00 to join plus over $300.00 a month to keep taking the supplements that are mandatory. Expensive huh? I found food options very restricted. The program is portion control to sum it all up with many many pills to pop. If I asked a question the answer I got was always another pill another dollar. I have lost 30 pounds but would never recommend Herbal Magic to friends or family. I felt that they sucked me in at a vunerable time of my life and they knew they had me the moment I walked in, what a fool I was. A person can follow the Canada Food Guide and supplement their diet with a herb from the grocery store for appetite control (you can find the same herbs there that are in their product) and lose just the same and keep your hard earned money. Even better instead of taking pills try increasing activity (which they do not even mention) will work the same. AGAIN, I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND YOU DO WHAT I DID unless you have over $2,000.00 to throw away. I'd rather take that $2,000.00 and reward myself with a vacation for the hard WORK that I DID, not them.

If you've had a bad experience with Herbal Magic or any other expensive program please don't keep quiet because if someone would have told me exactly what it was all about I would have never joined Herbal Magic

I have now been on Herbal Magic for 2 weeks and I have lost almost 15 lbs. I have always been a bigger girl and it has never really bothered me until I went to try on wedding dresses and I fit into a size 22 dress. I knew I had to do something and fast. Yes it is expensive, $1300 is alot of money when you are trying to pay for a wedding, but it was somthing I wanted to do for my self. I will say it has been really hard to stick to the diet.. I went from eating whatever whenever I wanted to eating healthy, but I think its worth it. Thats the bottom line... if you think its worth it..then you will do it. I think Herbal Magic is the help I needed to get started and I am thankful for them.

I had a consult with HM yesterday and I was
skeptical to begin with. I was greeted by this
greasy, car salesman looking guy named Rob. He told
me that I probably gain weight during "that time of
the month" so that's why my weight was so high that
day. Who says that!!? After I was quoted $1300 for
my "program" I told him it was too expensive and I
got up to leave. He told me about the "retail
option" where you buy their drugs and do the
program on your own. That would have cost me
$120/month.

Instead, for $120, I signed up with a personal
trainer for 3 training sessions and one nutrition
counselling session and I'm meeting her next week.

Don't waste your money. Don't become a victim of
Herbal Magic!

My wife went on herbal magic plan. 3 months, 2 thousand dollars. They restricted her diet and gave her a ton of pills. Funny thing is the pills all look the same but in different bottles. Well, I went on the restricted diet they put her on, only didn't take the pills, and ended up losing 20 pounds more than her. Hmmmmm, id say flags up!
For those who want to lose weight, just cut out a few things you eat. Simple, and, after you get used to it, quite painless. I went from 264 to 210 in 3 months just by cutting out bread, junk food, anything with soy, and anything processed. Not so hard! P.S. Dont get carried away with the salt either!!

I've never heard of herbal magic. I am sorry to hear
that you feel scammed, unfortunately its easy for
scams for expensive weightloss materials to
prosper. I would guess it comes from people being
willing to prey on people that maybe in a place of
vulnerability. I would recommend not buying any
program unless they have a money back gurantee.
I recently brought and excercise program from

and not only did I get the program (which included
an easy to follow nutrition plan that would get me
through the workouts for the whole program) but I
also got internet support teambeachbody was
commited to making me the best me and I am
happy with the purchase and all of their products
come with a money back gurantee…

I tried the atkins diet and it sucked so bad i just didn't like it to me herbal magic allowed you to eat more.

My beef with HM is that since 2006- I have lost a significant amount of weight, but it creeps back on quickly when I leave the program, the only fix seems to be take more pills! At one time, I was taking 4 diff pills, and not happy with the expense and results, its a struggle every day to keep weight off, and usually when I ask them to put me on stabilization for a while, since my weight is not moving, they never do, I just want to learn to stay at a certain weight, then move on to losing more, I thinks thats really important on maintaining.l get the old "wait another week' to keep me paying for these programs.
I am not a pill popper, and don't want to continue with them, I won't even mention how much I have spent but its in the thousands +

Since when is telling people if they follow a specific food guide, take supplements and listen to the instructions of your personal health coach a scam? Sounds to me like if the program didn't work you didn't follow it. I lost 40 pounds with Herbal Magic. It wasn't always easy to be without the foods I loved but then I'd go in to my centre and see the fruits of my labour. There is not a weight loss program out there that's going to work if you aren't 100% commited. So before you choose to post all your negative comments for the world to see maybe take a look at the amount of effort you put into the program. I bet its not as much as you think it is.

It is absolutely crazy expensive and could all
probably be accomplished in many other methods.
However I spent so much effort trying to eat
properly and work out regularly and was seeing no
results. In the past 4 months I have lost over 35
lbs, my stomach issues and diarrea have completely
cleared up (discovered I was lactose intolerant) and
feel this was a better gift to myself than another
vacation. I am positive you could buy these
supplements somewhere else much cheaper but I
really appreciate the support, regular weigh ins and
general encouragement.

I have felt no ill effects from the supplements
though I don't feel like I have more energy either. I
agree it is restrictive and makes eating out, very
very challenging. It makes you realize how crappy
most of the convenient foods are. I miss cake, I
miss soy sauce and sushi, I miss chocolate and
cookies but I like being able to fit back into my size
8's. Everything is a trade off.

hi i just started herbal magic and i do
not think they r a scam if thats the
case if they were one big fraud do u
think the government would let something
like that slide no!!!! and also it isnt
bout how much the pills or or if they r
healthy and blah blah blah a lot of
peoplecant do it a lone thats why they
have joined herbal magic like we spent
the money getting fat why not spend the
money getting healthy am i not right and
so what some people dnt agree with
herbal magic some people like it it dnt
work for everyone if u dnt have the
money for it and if it is such a bib rip
off then dnt take the program they tell
ya how much it costs right there and its
ur choice to say no or yes if u say yes
dnt sit there and complain bout it when
u wasted ur time and money on it keep it
to urself u shouldnt have spent money on
it in the first place but i believe
herbal magic isnt for everyone neither
is jenny craig or all of the other
weight diet programs everyone always has
something to say bout each and everyone
of them either good or bad so why knock
down herbal magic for... so what its a
rip so is a freaking bug hamburger from
mcdonalds with biggie sized fries and in
the long run u keep eating like that it
will only cost u hmmm lets see heart
conditions high blood pressure diebetes
being over weight and so many others so
i suggest N E ONE WHO CANNOT DO IT ALONE
GO TO HEBAL MAGIC THEY GUID U TO WHERE U
NEED TO GO AND UR GOAL WEIGHT AND MAKE
SURE U GET THERE WITH THERE HELP :)

I know exactly what you mean. I had spent so
muchmoney on weight loss that sometimes I think I
was single-handedly responsible for the diet
industry's success :)
For a while I gave up and tried to go it alone but I
found that expensive too. Not just in supplements
(which aren't really that cheap) but also in time. I
spent so much time researching that I felt that I'd
lost something there too.
There are people out there who are looking for a
solution to their weight issues. So many want a
quick fix and that's what company's like HM offer.
There are tons who are willing to pay for it and
that's great if they have the cash.
I was able to find a product that worked great and
cost a whole lot less than things like HM or Dr.
Berstein. (super expensive!)
I found a shake diet that worked great for me. I lost
the weight, found my focus and built a business out
of helping others do the same thing.
I'm getting my personal training certification and
I'm going to be getting people off the couch and
out to my free camps. I want everyone to "get it"
and I hope that your bad experience doesn't derail
your health goals.
So many studies show that having support from a
peer group, coach and mentor will increase your
chances of success
If you need some support visit my blog, call or
email me. I'm always happy to suggest ideas for
continued healthy living!

been on the HM program for 5 weeks & lost 21lbs.
Yes it's expensive, but so is making yourself overweight to begin with.
I paid to make myself fat so my punishment is to pay to learn how to drop it! Just my wrong opinion though!

Thanks for sharing your post. I am sorry to hear about your bad expereince with Herbal Magic. While I have not had a similar experience, I would like to reinforce the fact that the supplement industry is NOT overseen by any regulatory agency. In short, marketing companies can say whatever to get their hands on your money.

Don't be fooled - a fit and healthy body can be achieved with nothing but whole-foods and a tailored exercise plan.

Regards, James.

I just joined Herbal Magic yesterday, and I must say that if I would have done more research before joining instead of after, I would not have joined. Watching the episode on Marketplace simply strenghened my doubt. I have no problem with the food selection part, although I think it is a bit restrictive. However, I compared their food selection to the Weight Watcher's point system and they are pretty close, almost identical, although WW allows for a bit more calorie intake and better selection. I don't think 921 calories a day is sufficient, and pushing pills to help overcome that is another thing. After watching the Marketplace episode, it seems to me that the basis of this program is that once they got you to make that initial investment, and the longer you stay in the program, the harder it is to leave. Once you've invested all that money from the start, you're afraid to give it up in fear of all that money invested going to waste. That's where they get you, and that's when the pill pushing really has an effect. They will work on your fear of losing all that money you've already invested just to make you invest more. Try telling them that you don't want to take supplements, that you only want to follow the food selection schedule, without having to pay $350 a month for supplements, and see what they say. After all, if you learn to eat properly, excercise more often, why would you need supplements in the first place? My suggestion is, do all the research first, then make your decision. If I would have done that I would not have joined. I could go to weight watchers, get a food selection schedule, but only pay $15 a week for weigh-in and counseling. That's $60 a month compared to $350. It's all a state of mind. If you are serious about losing weight, there are ways to do it without having to refinance your house or sell your car. I am not saying the program doesn't work. I wouldn't know because I only joined yesterday, but doing the research and watching that episode of Marketplace really opened my eyes, and it didn't take long to figure out what this is all about.

to RUFUS: for pete sake, you are one hell of a pessimistic human being. Its a huge lie about 921....what the hell?Either you do something wrong or I dont know.My daughter was always hungry, sneaking to the fridge, since she joint HM she is actually to a point where she is telling me that she can't eat much more she is so full!.No something dioesnt add up with your story. So if you do not like it that stop it.you are not forced to stay.get the heck out...but leave others alone with your negative attitude...

I guess each plan has its plus and minus...and so does Herbal Magic.
We are in northern BC and it just took a recent staff change to smarten them up. my daughter joint herbal magic, yes it works, but we made it straight clear from scratch, since we live in the country it will go by our rules, like no 3 times a week, etc.She joint the youth program and with her 14 years of age I was very impressed with the staff, how they explained everything and took really their time to educate my daughter in professional ways.for me personal its a bit too expensive, I can't afford the 2 of us, but I learned a lot. And the staff is even so great to advise me & support me as well.way to go Herbal magic....of course everybody has something to yapp and nag about...thank you to guide my daughter.

Just so you know, the body is self-
cleaning. It's nice to have these
supplements but at that price it's kind of
a rip off. I good low fat nutritious diet
will be best for anybody.

My complaint about Herbal Magic is the pills expense
($350. monthly), and worthless visits 3x per week.
Plus they don't tell you UPFRONT that if you don't go
there 3 x per week that they will call and bug you
constantly. Finally, If you miss a month they close your
file and get rid of you. You never get the same staff
person when you go in which causes confusion.

I joined Herbal Magic and also feel like a fool. They never told me that if you don't reach your goal weight by a certain date - you have to buy more weeks!! They also never told me I would have to continue to take supplements while on maintenance - that will cost me another $1000. It is ridiculous how expensive it is and I am so angry they did not tell me how much it would all cost. I did ask them before I joined and they brushed off the answer. I feel like they sucked me in when I was feeling bad about myself. DO NOT JOIN!!!

I have been on Herbal Magic for a few months and it is an absolutely great plan. No other worked for me and I would recommend it to anyone. It's difficult to do it yourself but with their help it has made such a difference. When you reach your goal you need to help for maintenance. In time a person can continue on their own but I would give Herbal Magic a 10 out of 10. It's great!!!!

I know nothing about Herbal Magic, except that a dear friend of ours ended up in hospital after his blood pressure dropped to nothing. It was horribly frightening.

He has a heart condition and was advised to lose a few pounds, so he tried the HM.
He was instructed to stay far far away from it. It's not my intention to product bash when I know nothing about it....but I know as much about it as I want to know. Just thought I'd share.
