Nutrition | Carbs vs. protein for breakfast.


I am a bit confused, as I have heard arguments from both "camps". Which is better? I usually start the day with a bowl of Kashi Go Lean, mixed with a few other healthy, and natural low fat/sugar cereals OR a bowl of Natures Path Flax Plus oatmeal. Either satisfies me quite well, and I digest both easily. However, I have heard that the body will burn 65% more calories throughout the day when starting with a high protein breakfast (I know these cereals also have some protein).I typically work out an hour or so after breakfast, so what is my best choice?

Protein is a metabolism starter, fat is not. While those cereals do contain some protein it is mostly incomplete or soy based. Make sure you have eggs some mornings or try oatmeal and whey protein mixtures.
