HMB (Beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate)

Purpose: To support a decrease in muscle damage during resistance
training. (HMB slows the breakdown of leucine in the muscle.)

Research: Most supplement companies have advertised that research has shown that HMB stimulates an increase in lean muscle tissue, and a simultaneous decrease in muscle damage. Thus far, HMB has promising research, however it is important to recall that research
remains in its early stages.

Natural Sources: Alfalfa, asparagus, avocado, cauliflower, catfish,
grapefruit and red meats.
