Whey Protein - A Brief Overview

Purpose: To provide the body with complete protein after a workout
thereby facilitating protein synthesis and increasing lean muscle mass.

Research:
There have been some studies suggesting a strong
correlation between increase in muscle mass and supplementing
with whey protein. However, whey protein should only be consumed
by someone lacking protein in their diet. Since it is a convenient
after workout supplement, thus increasing its popularity.

Recall:
After a workout is the best time to ingest simple
carbohydrates, and protein in order to replenish energy stores.
