Very disappointed to learn, two weeks after I renewed two corporate memberships, that GL is seriously reducing the aquafit classes because they don't want to have to pay for a life guard as required under new provincial legislation. Aquafit participants are very loyal customers, we keep coming in spite of two pool closures of 4 and 3 weeks in the past few months alone! The majority of aqua fit participants are 60+ women, most have joint/back issues that prevent participation in other classes, spin class not! We are not GL targets audience and I firmly believe that the corporate decision is based on ageism and sexism. Bunch of older women won't make any noise when they take our money and provide less service... This decision in addition to being a witness to several recent issues/altercations between pool users results in the poor rating. GL may not need a lifeguard as much as the services of a bouncer.
Good gym, front desk is friendly rarely wait for equipment in the AM. Change room needs updating and stretch area could be expanded and they need a towel service!
