~~~> Someone who is training for myofibril hypertrophy (gaining lean muscle so to speak) like myself-- shouldn't exceed 4egg yolks a week, if you like to eat the whole egg. Too much cholesterol will have lasting affects down the road. Protein shakes are a great supplement. As far as food is concerned, i eat 8-10 egg *WHITES* for breakfast 5 days a week. Egg WHITES are 100% protein, which beats out chicken with 16% protein. This is FACT.../hope this helped.
I eat 21 eggs a week-minus the yolks-not very tasty but good protein.
Eggs are probably one of the best sources of protein available. Bodybuilders vary in their weight classes and many take different amounts (it is very unreasonable to say an exact number due to everyones different body structure).
Eggs are not unhealthy! A few years ago their was a study done with people having too much cholesterol from eggs. Keep in mind that if you have high cholesterol its probably not a good idea to have them every day. (take the yolk out) But for the athlete it should be a staple just like tuna and chicken!
Thanks for your question,
