Nutrition | Protein combinations


I was wondering if you could tell me a list of foods that when combine together make complete proteins. (Beans arent complete but what do you eat them with to make them complete?)

Foods that are complete on their own are:

-milk

-fish

-poultry

-animal sources of protein




Food combinations that make complete proteins are:

(This especially important for vegetarians)

-cereal and milk

-pasta and cheese

-grains and beans and legumes

-rice and beans

-tortillas and beans

-brown bread and baked beans

-tofu and sesame seeds

chick-peas and tahini (hummus)




These examples were provided from "Nancy Clark's Sport Nutrition Guidebook", 2nd Edition.
