Body Building | Please help


I have been working out about 3 years now. I am 18, 6'6", 181lbs. While I have seen great improvements in my body in this time, I am having a harder time building up my arms than any other area. This probably has something to do with the fact that I do not have the ideal frame for a bodybuilder (I have long arms and a small-medium frame), but I feel like I am working hard. I lift until my muscles are so engorged that I cannot comfortably lift the weight any longer, but my biceps and triceps just refuse to add much mass.

Can anyone help?

Okay. Just remember. If it isn't hard then it isn't working. Get heavy weight you can handle for about 5 reps and try it out for 3 sets per exercise. And you might try going to failure also. Heavy weight as many reps as you can. You don't want to do more than 8 but you want to try for 10 reps (mentally of coures, but theres no way you should make it if your doing the eright weight.) and slowly work down the weight. For instance try 100 pounds 1st set for standing barbell curl, then rest, then maybe 80, then 40. aka "Drop sets" (to failure). It'll work. No doubt bud. Keep those heavy low rep sets safe though okay? Take it easy.

I'll see if that works... I usually do about 8 reps and mix things up with 21s and the like.

What are your repetitions? If your doing too many and *engorging?* is due to sheer exhaustion of the muscle, you might consider lowering your reps and increasing your weight. For mass try 3-8 repetitions per set with maybe 3 sets per exercise. I do roughly 3 sets of 6 reps with the sixth rep of each set near failure. Hope that helps!
