|I've been wondering why my abs are weak in regards to the rest of my body. I'm physically active; I go to the gym 3 times a week and I kickbox twice a week. I usually do compound exercises at the gym involving the abs such as squats, deadlifts, etc, as well as just working on plain ab exercises. I can hold a back extension for over 3 minutes yet I still cannot get my lower back to touch the ground with lower ab exercises. I've heard planking and such exercise are useful however I don't find that the problem (I can also hold the plank for 3+ minutes). Although, my lower back seems evidently strong, my abs are relatively very weak in comparison and I always have trouble with "quality" abdominal reps. If anyone can diagnose this problem or have suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
